![]() But I wish it didn't tart-up Aqua like a cheap whore. Oh, well, Butler was fixed and I went back to it. It could only do the command-space-type thing. Well, if it does, I couldn't figure out how. All I want is quick app launching by command-space, app-launching shortcuts ( for example ctrl-opt-t for Terminal ) and folder opening shortcuts ( f5 for clients folder, f6 for bizdev folder, etc ).Since QS is reported to do everything, including shaving your back, changing your oil and making baby jesus smile, I figured QS could do these things. It seemed to do WAY too much, and none of it very well. And, I posted a bug report to Butler's author about the photoshop bug.Well, I gave QS a few weeks - I figured it would be enough time to get comfortable with it.Point is: Didn't feel right to me. I figured I'd give QS a shot, since everybody raves about it like it's the second coming. So, being completely utterly addicted to command-space-type-a-few-letters I had to pick something to use. ![]() This is interesting to me, since, a bug some months ago in Butler prevented photoshop from launching ( took FOREVER to diagnose ) if Butler was running. If you're not using QS, then you're doing things the slow way. Once again, I'm not sure if QS can do this as I only tried it for a short time before going back to launchbar.-With that said, QS definitely has more stuff with all the add-ons available, but none of them are really needed for me, so I'll stick with launchbar ![]() Just hit cmd-space type goo or whatever hit the spacebar and type your search-I've found launchbar much better in browsing and playing songs in itunes, just my opinion-clipboard history I'm not sure of.-you can move files around to different areas on your hard-drive directly with launchbar, you never need the finder. Just to correct a few of your points:- launchbar has many search templates built in to search tons of different websites. Or you can drag the Quicksilver app onto the Finder's toolbar (to the right of the folder config button) to give you a permanent drop target for it.Browse & play your iTunes library from within Quicksilver.Cmd-L to give you system-wide clipboard history.Select a contact's address details, and use Paste Into Application to drop the address into the foremost plugin for all your online bookmarks.I'm not on my Powerbook here, so all that was from memory. Or you can hit Cmd-Space, then Cmd-G to insert Finder's current selection. I hit Cmd-Space, type 'ggl' to bring up my google shortcut, then hit space to jump to the 3rd panel, where I can type into a text field whatever I want to search for.Sending files to applications is handy, sending files to people is even handier (Cmd-space, find the item, hit space to jump to the third panel, carry on hitting space until you reach the 'Email to.' action, then select your contact)If you're looking at an item selected in the finder that you want to do something with, you can hit cmd-space, then drag & drop it into Quicksilver. All of the ease and speed of Launchbar for opening apps, plus extras for everything else._/tries to remember what Launchbar could and couldn't do._OK, one I use all the time is searching from QS.
